Mashele said the Department of Community Safety stopped a suspicious-looking vehicle in the area and upon further inspection and investigation found that the vehicle had been hijacked in Bronkhorstspruit. Police also found an unlicensed firearm in the driver’s possession.

The suspect later lead the officers to his home in Toekomsrus where a second suspect was found. At the home were two other hijacked vehicles, 100 rounds of ammunition, an unlicensed firearm, and a variety of vehicle keys and cellphones.
