Join the annual SPCA Dog Walk

The SPCA Annual Dog Walk 2016 is around the corner.

The SPCA’s Annual Dog Walk 2016 will take place in Randfontein on Sunday, 9 October.

The SPCA would like to invite all members of the community together with their furry friends to join in the fun. Each participant is welcome to bring their own four-legged friend(s) or to borrow an orphaned dog from the SPCA.

“It is the most fun activity to do with your dog.

The traffic department will also be assisting us to ensure the safety of all the participants and to escort any participants back to the SPCA centre should they get a bit tired,” said Lucy Phillips, manager of SPCA Randfontein and Westonaria.

Boerewors rolls and other refreshments will be available for the participants after the walk at the SPCA centre. The winner of the raffle will be announced as well. The prize includes free grooming sessions for your dog every month for one year, courtesy of Spiffs 2 Pet Grooming Parlour. Raffle tickets are still available at the SPCA centre for the lucky draw. After the event, each dog will receive a certificate for participating in the SPCA Annual Dog Walk.

“This is our ninth or tenth annual walk and we are thrilled to be able to host this fun activity for all dogs and their owners,” Lucy concluded.

Registration starts at 8.30am,with the walk starting at 9.30am. The entry fee is R5 per leg (R10 per person and R20 per dog). Note that no dog will be allowed to walk without a leash.
