Three injured as bakkie and vehicle collide

One vehicle turned in front of another, leaving three people injured.

Three people have been injured in yet another serious accident near Carletonville.

According to Russel Meiring, the ER24 spokesperson, this accident, between a bakkie and light motor vehicle occurred on the Reismierbult Road outside Carletonville, on Sunday, 11 September.

He said ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the bakkie way off in the veld, while the light motor vehicle was parked on the side of the road.

“The paramedics found one man lying next to the light motor vehicle while two men were found seated inside the bakkie. Paramedics carefully extricated the men from the bakkie and assessed all the patients, finding that they had sustained minor to moderate injuries.

“The patients were treated for their injuries and thereafter transported to various hospitals including Mediclinic Potchefstroom. It is believed that one of the vehicles had turned in front of the other, apparently causing the collision.”

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
