Man held up at gunpoint in his home

The suspects made off with electrical equipment.

A 27-year-old man became the victim of a house robbery after he was asked for water by an unknown male.

According to Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson, the incident took place at about 5.40pm one Sunday last month in Van Rensburg Street, Westergloor.

She said the victim allegedly arrived home and noticed two unknown men standing in his driveway next to a VW Polo with an unknown registration number.

When the victim asked how he could assist them, one of them asked for water. He then went into the house to get the water, but was followed by one of the unknown men.

It is alleged that once inside, the victim was held up at gunpoint and the suspect demanded and took the his cellphone and laptop. After taking the goods, the suspects fled the scene.

The investigating officer urges the community to assist in the tracing of the suspects by supplying any information they may have to the Randfontein Police.
