Adonia, R’fontein raise R16 000 for young disabled girl

'Where you have a need, you will have a breakthrough'

Adonia Angels, the non-profit organisation that gave a helping hand to a child born with one leg shorter than the other would like to thank those who assisted.

Corrie van Loggerenberg from Adonia said she would like to thank every sponsor and every person who made a donation towards 10-year-old Amorie Faulkner, the girl born with one leg too short.

Adonia held a charity spitbraai for Amorie earlier this month which Corrie said was a great success. She said she could not believe how many residents and businesses opened their hearts to Amorie and said the event would not have been a success without them.

Corrie would also like to thank Dana van Vuuren, chairperson of the Randfontein Rugby Club who made it possible for them to have the spitbraai at their club.

“God will greatly bless you in your businesses and in your personal life and where you have a need, you will have a breakthrough,” she said to all who helped.

During their project to assist Amorie and her family with their medical bills, the Adonia managed to raise over R16 000 towards Amorie’s operations.

Amorie will soon have the pins taken out of her legs which were put there to assist in growing her leg. However, when Amorie turns 15, she will have to undergo the process all over again.

Adonia did make the weight on Amorie and her family lighter so they can enjoy with her the few years doctors gave her to allow her leg to grow naturally.
