Six gangsters arrested after attack

Six gangsters, allegedly from the Crazzy Maffias, were arrested.

Six gangsters, allegedly from the Crazzy Maffias, were recently arrested after an assault and stabbing.

According to Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, spokesperson for the Bekkersdal Police, the incident took place on 25 June in a Simunye tavern at approximately 7:20pm.

The victim alleged he was sitting with a friend at the tavern when a group of approximately 20 men walked in.

Five members of the group allegedly attacked him with pangas, crates and empty bottles shortly after they entered the tavern.

The man sustained multiple injuries as a result of the attack.

A case of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH) was opened on 5 July, nearly a week after the incident.

The suspects were traced and arrested and will be charged with assault GBH. They appeared in the Westonaria Magistrates’ Court on 6 July.
