Woman airlifted after W’aria crash

One of the vehicles burst into flames as a result of the collision.

A woman was critically injured and airlifted to hospital after a recent Westonaria crash.

The collision happened at the intersection of the R28 with Reaikago Road on 6 July, at approximately 1:30pm. A total of four people were injured in the two-car crash, according to Athlenda Mathe, Netcare 911 spokesperson.

One of the vehicles burst into flames as a result of the crash.

Paramedics from Netcare 911 paramedics and another emergency service treated patients before transporting them to a nearby hospital.

Mathe said the critically injured woman was airlifted by the Netcare 911 helicopter to a hospital in Johannesburg for further medical attention.

This incident comes only a month after a crash on the same road that took the life of one woman and left seven other people injured.
