The two males, aged 29 and 32, were arrested the weekend before last following an intense police investigation.

Before proceedings got under way, the suspects asked for an Afrikaans interpreter. One of the suspects also requested that the bail hearing be postponed in order for him to obtain private legal representation.

The State Prosecutor said there will be a conflict of interest should defence attorney Advocate Da Silva represent both accused. The State also stipulated that in the interest of justice, taking photos of the accused will not be permitted.

The case was postponed and transferred to the Roodepoort Regional Court where the accused can apply for bail on 24 June.
