UPDATE on missing girl, 19: Alleged former R’fontein boyfriend hasn’t seen her

Sister: Shannon showed no signs of depression or any strange behaviour in the days before she went missing.

As the search continues for a missing 19-year-old girl on the West Rand, the Herald has been informed that a former Randfontein boyfriend knows nothing regarding her whereabouts.

Talita Filmer, the sister of Shannon Lombard (who went missing last Friday, 27 May) says Shannon left home at about 8.45am that day to go to a supermarket in Noordheuwel.

According to Filmer, Shannon has no current boyfriend and she and her previous boyfriend, who lives in Randfontein, broke up a while back. Filmer said the ex-boyfriend has no knowledge of Shannon’s whereabouts.

She added that Shannon has never attempted to run away from home before.

“Shannon is a good-natured girl, she was never involved with drugs and never got into trouble at school.

She showed no signs of depression or any strange behaviour in the days before she went missing.

“This is an extremely difficult time for us. My husband and I lost our daughter in a quad-biking accident in 2008,” Filmer said.

Police urges the West Rand community to be on the lookout for Shannon. When she was last seen, Shannon was wearing black denim jeans with a brown jacket and Tomy takkies.

She is of average build, has brown hair with blue/grey eyes, thin lips and a small nose. Shannon has no tattoos and only has piercings in her ears. She weighs about 63kg and is 1,56 meters tall.
