Man accused of killing ex-girlfriend applies for bail

The family urges Randfontein to support them at the court case and protest against abuse.

The man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend will appear in the Randfontein Magistrates’ Court on Thursday in a bail application hearing.

This will be the suspect’s third appearance in court.

The young woman, 22, was allegedly stabbed repeatedly by her ex-boyfriend on Friday, 6 May after allegedly receiving death threats from him. She was rushed to hospital for treatment, and the family was unsure whether she would walk again.

Two weeks later, on Wednesday 18 May, just when the family was beginning to feel positive about her recovery, they received the tragic news that the victim had succumbed to her injuries in hospital.

The family of the deceased now invites Randfontein’s residents to join them during the court case to protest against abuse.
