Rapist on the loose in R’fontein

Police: No stone will be left unturned until the suspect is incarcerated.

The Randfontein Police have launched a manhunt for a house robber and rapist who is a well-known person in Mohlakeng.

According to Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson, the incident took place at approximately 2am on Saturday in Benfica Street, Extension 7.

A male complainant alleged he was asleep on the couch in the dining room when he awoke and saw a man standing in the house.

The man then put a knife against his neck and demanded money. The complainant was then instructed to open the bedroom door where two woman aged 46 and 23 respectively, and a young boy, were sleeping.

The suspect tied everyone up with pieces of cloth and then raped both women.

“He took some money, two cellphones and a DVD player, and walked away,” Ernst explained.

The women were taken to hospital for examination. The suspect is still at large.

Brigadier Manamela, Randfontein Police Station Commander said, “No stone will be left unturned until the suspect is incarcerated.”
