Ex-boyfriend allegedly stabs mother of his child

Family is unsure if she will be able to walk again.

A young woman from Toekomsrus is recovering in hospital and is possibly paralysed after allegedly being stabbed by an ex-boyfriend.

The ex-boyfriend is said to be the father of her child.

According to a cousin of the victim – believed to be 25 years of age – the incident took place last Friday.

“She was on her way home from work. Her ex-boyfriend followed her home from her workplace and when he caught up to her, he stabbed her repeatedly.

One of the stab wounds were close to her spine and at this point we’re not sure whether she is paralysed or not,” the cousin said.

He explained further the victim allegedly received death threats from her ex-boyfriend because they split up but she refused to take him back.

The Herald has been informed the victim is currently at a Johannesburg hospital for tests on whether she will be able to walk again. Once doctors are done with the tests she will be transferred to a hospital on the West Rand.

A case has been opened at the Toekomsrus Police Station, however, the incident has not yet been confirmed by police.
