Truck driver killed in horror roll-over accident
'Occupants of the vehicle, both women, were uninjured.'
A truck driver was killed and a passenger injured in a collision that took place on Khutsong Road in the Carletonville area on Wednesday.
According to Chitra Bodasing, ER24 spokesperson, “Paramedics, provincial paramedics as well as other services arrived on scene and found that a truck and vehicle were involved in the collision.
The truck had rolled and landed on its roof and the vehicle was found nearby.
“Both the driver of the truck and a passenger, both men believed to be in their 30’s, were trapped.”
Bodasing added there was nothing that could be done for the driver. He sustained multiple severe injuries and was declared dead. The passenger sustained minor injuries.
Fire and Rescue had to use the jaws of life and other equipment to extricate the men. The passenger was treated and transported to the Carletonville Hospital for further medical care.
The occupants of the vehicle, both women, were uninjured. The exact cause of the incident is unknown. Authorities were on scene for further investigations.
