Rem fun run fundraiser a hit

Randfontein Primary steps up to the plate to support dance group.

Randfontein Primary School (Rem) did their part for the Blueprint dance group to get them to the Dance World Cup.

The school organised a 5km and 10km fun run in aid of the dance group who needs to raise funds to go to Jersey in the Channel Islands.

Each dancer needs to raise R25 000 to compete in the auspicious competition. Subsequently, the school where the dance group practices decided to help out.

The fun run was held on Saturday, 23 April around and at Rem. Roads were blocked off to accommodate runners in the streets and the local traffic department did their part in ensuring a safe accident-free race. The fun run boasted support from local running clubs and due to the popularity of the event, they will soon have another event.

Blueprint also held an event of their own in Toekomsrus – a dance marathon on Saturday, 16 April to also raise funds. This is in line with their #Project525 – if 525 people or groups donate R1 000 each, they would have enough money for each dancer to go through.

5km winners:
1st – Lelani Roodt
2nd – Keneilwie Babusi
3rd – Lukain Rabie

10km winners:
1st – Cornelia Joubert
2nd – Liza Kellerman
3rd – Lizerie Ferreira
