Driver dies as vehicle rolls, passenger still alive

Police are urging the public to come forward if they have more information.

Randfontein Police are investigating yet another case of culpable homicide after a Light Delivery Vehicle (LDV) overturned on the Ventersdorp (N14) Road in Brandvlei, killing the driver.

The passenger still was alive and sustained serious injuries. The incident occurred at around 5pm on Saturday, 2 April.

“When police got to the scene, they found that a passenger of the LDV was seriously injured and the driver, a 39-year-old man, had tragically succumbed to his injuries.

No other vehicle was involved and the injured passenger was transported to a local hospital.

“The Randfontein Detectives are investigating a culpable homicide case and would appreciate any information from anyone who might have witnessed the incident,” said Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson.
