Failure to stop at intersection leaves one dead

Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.

Randfontein Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after one person was killed in a crash between two vehicles at the the intersection of the Dwarskloof and Brandvlei Road in Randfontein last week.

The incident took place at around 4.15am last Monday. Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson requests any witnesses to come forward and contact the investigating officer, Sergeant Freddy Mokone on 011 278 8100.

“Police members were called out to a collision involving two vehicles early that morning. Upon their arrival they found two vehicles which collided at the intersection, which is controlled by a stop sign on the Dwarskloof Road. Police members also found that the driver of an Opel Astra succumbed to his injuries which he sustained during the collision.

It is alleged one of the vehicles failed to stop at the intersection and it resulted in the collision,” said Ernst.
