UPDATE ATM bombing at new mall: Security bumped up

Owners: The ATM will soon be in operation.

Owners of the Ntuli Shopping Centre in Mohlakeng – targeted by ATM bombers recently – assured that security has been upped at the centre which will make for an even safer environment for shoppers.

The mall was built in December last year and its Capitec ATM was bombed on Saturday, 12 March.

André Nunes, developer of the shopping centre in a statement said,

The ATM will soon be in operation.”

According to Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson, “We were called to the mall after an explosion was heard. Upon arrival, we found damaged bank notes in the immediate area. They money was later handed over to us.”
