Pupil assaulted, robbed and threatened with firearm

Police: The suspects allegedly demanded the victim’s belongings.

A 16-year-old teenager and pupil recently was robbed, beaten and threatened with a firearm by three men Randfontein Police said.

“At approximately 1am on Sunday 6 March it is alleged the victim was near the Randfontein Show grounds in Homestead Avenue when he was confronted by three unknown men.

One of the suspects allegedly was armed with a firearm while the one of the other was wielding a knife.

“The suspects allegedly demanded the victim’s belongings.” says Captain Appel Ernst, spokesperson for the Randfontein Police.

“The victim was threatened and then assaulted. When the victim allegedly fell down, the suspects grabbed the victim’s school bag and ran off. The teenager’s cellular device was in the bag,” said Captain Appel ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson.

The investigating officer, warrant officer Thabiso Duiker would appreciate any information regarding the incident.

Witnesses who might have seen this incident are requested to call him on 011 278 8100.
