Man killed in fight at dumping site

Police: The victim allegedly was struck with a stick on the head and he collapsed.

A 30-year-old man has been found dead at the Randfontein dumping site after an alleged fight.

Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson confirmed, “It is alleged at 10am on Saturday 20 February an argument between the victim and suspect turned violent.

The two parties started hitting each other with whatever they could lay their hands on.

“The victim allegedly was struck with a stick on the head and he collapsed. The victim died as a result of the head injury.”

The Randfontein Police responded to the complaint and they were able to arrest a 44-year-old suspect on the scene. The South African Police Service calls on the help of the community members to assist them with information.
