RHS welcomes five new teachers

Principal: You have to be a little crazy to fit in at RHS, but these new staff members certainly are proving their wackiness and willingness to fit in.

Randfontein High School (RHS) recently appointed five new teachers.

They welcomed Terence Byrne, Monique van Blerk, Tshepo Damonese, Christo Herbst and Juhan Swart.

Marita Henning, RHS principal often jokes that you have to be a little crazy to fit in at RHS and these new staff members certainly are proving their wackiness and willingness to fit in.

Terence, a qualified fitness instructor and a very experienced cricketer is in charge of the Physical Education Training (PET) component of Life Orientation. He also will provide the school with his expertise when coaching cricket and athletics. Terence also is the owner of Fitness Freaks, a company that offers various fitness packages including fitness boot camps.

Monique teaches Afrikaans and Social Sciences to the Grade 8s and 9s and also will coach athletics and netball.

Tshepo teaches Tourism and Economic and Management Sciences. He already has proved himself to be a favourite among the pupils, getting into the groove of the Spirit Trophy.

Christo, who is a qualified pastry chef, is teaching Consumer Studies to the Grade 10s, 11s and 12s and believes that by sharing his passion for all things food, he will be able to equip his pupils with the necessary skills to become entrepreneurs.

Juhan teaches Technology to the Grade 9s and Engineering Graphics and Design to the Grade 10s and 11s. Juhan, who comes from an excellent rugby background, would like to bring back rugby to RHS and make their teams the competition to beat.
