R’fontein matrics rejoice

All the hard work finally paid off.

The HeraldĀ were out an about on Wednesday morning to chat to and snap pictures of parents and pupilsĀ on the day of the release of the matric results.

The team set out to various schools in town. Matriculants were eagerly awaiting to get into their school gates for the last time to see if what they put in through 2015, paid off.

Some matrics were nervous wrecks before fetching their results.

HoĆ«rskool Jan Viljoen’s star pom-pom, Veronique Rossouw and her mother Retha said they felt like the most stressed out matriculant and mother in the whole of Randfontein. Retha even joked and said she stressed so much she felt like she got old overnight. Of course when Veronique got her results there was nothing to worry about in the very least.

Randfontein High School had a braai for all their guests and matriculants just to give them one last goodbye. Riebeeckrand treated their top pupilsĀ to some champagne and snacks.

Randfontein Secondary, on the other hand, had a very down to earth collection of results as their year was filled with copious amounts of hard work.

Most of the matriculants the Herald spoke to had aspirations to study further and some are even in the process of packing to move to their various hostels and apartments at university.

Some said money is tight but they hope to figure out a way forward in order to study but all in all those who received a pass were more than happy with just that.
