New Year’s Eve ends in tragedy
Pedestrian knocked over by motorist, then run over by two other cars.
A man was knocked over and killed on the R501 about 25km from Potchefstroom heading towards Carletonville on Thursday.
“It is believed the man was walking on the road when he was knocked over by a motorist.
It is understood that two other motorists then drove over him.
“When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found the man on the road. He was assessed and found to have sustained multiple severe injuries. Sadly there was nothing that could be done for him.
“He was declared dead. No one else was injured,” said Chitra Bodasing, ER24 spokesperson.
The exact cause of the incident is unknown however authorities were on scene for further investigations.
