Storm-water drain swallows man

This came shortly after a storm hit Randfontein after 4pm.

The search is on for a man from Toekomsrus in his 20s. He allegedly fell into a storm-water drain close to the bridge near Hoërskool Riebeeckrand.

This came shortly after a storm hit Randfontein after 4pm on Thursday. The man’s friends suspect he had dropped something in the storm-water drain or he just slipped.

Randfontein Police as well as Disaster Management were on the scene and continued searching until late last night, without success.

Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson said little is known at this stage, but the search for the man will continue with full force.
