Two airlifted after collision

ER24: Two light motor vehicles were involved.

Two people sustained critical injuries and one person was left with moderate injuries after a collision that occurred on the N12 near the Carletonville off ramp also known as the R501 on Tuesday afternoon.

“Two light motor vehicles were involved and ER24 paramedics treated two patients for their injuries.

One was airlifted by ER24 to LenMed Hospital in Randfontein and the other was transported by road to Carletonville Hospital also by ER24,” said Pieter Rossouw, ER24 spokesperson.

Another critically injured patient was airlifted by another service to hospital.

The cause of the incident remains unknown, local authorities were on scene for further investigation.
