Eight injured in two-car crash

ER24 paramedics along with other services arrived on the scene to find both vehicles in the middle of the road.

Eight people were injured after a light motor vehicle t-boned another on the R500 near Carletonville on Sunday afternoon.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene to find both vehicles in the middle of the road. Seven people from the one vehicle and one from the second vehicle were injured in the collision. One of the occupants was found to be in a critical condition.

“Paramedics treated the patients and provided the critically injured patient with advanced life support. Once treated, the critically injured patient was airlifted by a private medical helicopter to a nearby hospital for urgent treatment.

“The remaining patients were transported by ambulance to various hospitals for further treatment. Local authorities were on scene for further investigations,” said Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson.
