New church opens with joyous celebration

R'fontein Mayor: Together with the church we will reach heights.

Emmanuel House of Faith congregation and pastors came in their numbers to witness the official opening of the new church building in Randfontein.

Congregants came from as far as Botswana and Zeerust in North West.

Pastor Cassius and Lesego Malebane presided with the ribbon cutting to signify the official opening of the Emmanuel House of Faith church, formerly Christ Embassy. Founding Pastor Cassius said the church was built with the purpose of glorifying God. He said it was gratifying to see the church’s progress from its humble beginnings in a double garage.

God has been good to us. We were faced with many challenges but nothing moved us. We did everything according to the book in terms of obeying municipal laws to get the building,” said Malebanye. He added there are plans for a big auditorium to cater for a growing congregation.

One of the church members is Ntsiki Khumalo, wife of Executive Mayor, Mzi Khamalo who was guest of honour. Ntsiki also is lead vocalist in the Emmanuel House of Faith worship team with cousin Jonki. Both have recorded a CD.

The service was marked by song and dance with Jonki and guest artist Stephen Matabele providing the musical renditions as well as the church worship team. In his address, Khamalo emphasised the importance of the church in leadership.

He once again reminded the congregation that the ANC actually was formed from the church by chiefs and church leaders, and various that church leaders such as former Archbishop Desmond Tutu played a pivotal role in the dark days of apartheid.

The church together with government has a role to play towards moral regeneration; it also has to work with government to make sure that democracy works. Together with the church we will reach heights,” said Khumalo.
