Man killed for flirting

Police: The suspect came in and found the victim talking to his girlfriend.

A 28-year-old man was arrested for stabbing another man to death, Bekkersdal Police said.

The incident took place on Saturday over the weekend.

“It is alleged at approximately 10pm that day the victim was enjoying himself at a local tavern when the suspect came in and found the victim talking to his girlfriend.

The suspect then said the victim must respect him and stop talking to his girlfriend.

“The suspect took his girlfriend outside of the tavern and the victim followed. After a while the victim came back soaked in blood where he was rushed to a clinic and transferred to a hospital where he later died,” said Linkie Lefakane, spokesperson for the Bekkersdal Police.

A case was opened and the suspect was later arrested. He appeared before the Westonaria Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
