Truck mangles car, one dead
ER24: Unfortunately nothing more could be done for the patient.
A man died following a collision between a truck and a light motor vehicle on the N12 in Westonaria on Wednesday.
According to Russel Meiring, spokesperson for ER24, paramedics arrived on scene and found the wreckage of the light motor vehicle in the middle of the road and a delivery truck was parked on the side of the road a short distance away from the car.
On closer inspection, paramedics found that the driver of the light motor vehicle had already succumbed to his multiple fatal injuries.
Unfortunately nothing more could be done for the patient and he was declared dead,” Meiring said.
The truck driver on the other hand sustained only minor injuries which paramedics treated and he was later taken to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
