Man stabs girlfriend to death

Police: She discovered her dead friend in a pool of blood.

A manhunt is underway for the man who investigators believe stabbed his girlfriend to death on Saturday (10 October).

Bekkersdal Police spokesperson, Linkie Lefakane confirmed, “The suspect is known as Bafana. At approximately 11pm that day it is alleged the victim was at a local tavern with her friends when the suspect – who was her boyfriend – called her to the outside.

They were seen talking for a long period of time and according to the witness, she then saw the victim with the suspect but he was pulling and dragging her along.

“She thought it was just a lover’s quarrel but, when she was home after a while, she was awaken by a sound of whistle blowing. She then went outside to see what the noise was and discovered her dead friend in a pool of blood.”

The suspect has since fled and his whereabouts are unknown. If anyone locates him please contact the Bekkersdal Police on 011 755 0000 or Sergeant Shiviti on 072 561 9417.
