Plot roads fixed – properly

Councillor: You can barely feel the transition from the repaired parts and the new parts.

The fight against potholes in plot areas has been ongoing, but not for long.

The Herald recently published an article about Randfontein being under construction and how the roads are being fixed more frequently and differently to how they have been repaired before.

Alwyn van Tonder, DA ward Councillor for ward 3 has also noticed this changed and he is very impressed the roads in his ward are also being fixed. The specific road that is currently being repaired is Lang Road in Klein Elandsvlei.

You can see that they’re doing it differently now. They actually cut out a piece of the affected road and then repair it. When you drive on the road, you can barely feel the transition from the repaired parts and the new parts,” he said.

Residents in the area have been complaining about the cut out tar municipal workers leave behind while they are fixing the road however they are still in the process of repairing the road and according to van Tonder, the municipality said everything will be cleared when the work on the road is completed. This counts for all roads being repaired.

Van Tonder would like to thank the municipality for repairing the roads and repairing them so well.
