Grinder thief, 24, nabbed

'The man looked suspicious' – police.

Westonaria Police recently arrested a man in his early 20s for being in possession of stolen property – that of a grinder.

“At approximately 8.15pm last Sunday, Constable Motswadi and Sergeant Mafoko were patrolling Haarlem Street when they noticed an unknown man carrying a school bag. The man looked suspicious and the police stopped their vehicle and searched him where they found a grinder in the school bag,” Captain Siphiwe Ndlovu, spokesperson for Westonaria Police said.

Ndlovu continued,

When he (the suspect) was confronted about where he got the grinder, the suspect remained silent. Police then asked the suspect to take them to his place of residence but the suspect took them to an open veld in Westonaria. The suspect was then arrested for the possession of stolen goods.”

The suspect who is 24 years of age appeared in the Westonaria District Court on 7 September. The outcome is not known to the Herald.
