Suspect arrested for brutal murder

The team worked tirelessly day and night until they arrested the suspect' – Police.

A suspect was arrested in connection with a brutal murder where a man, 55, was gutted to death. 

The 55-year-old man was found gutted at Kopanong hostel in Kloof on Saturday (8 August). The suspect, 47, was arrested by the Westonaria police on Wednesday (12 August) at approximately 10pm in Glenharvie.

According to Captain Siphiwe Ndlovu, Spokesperson for the Westonaria police,

The arrest came after investigating officer, Warrant Officer Ali Motlhale, and his team followed up on a lead. The team worked tirelessly day and night until they arrested the suspect.”

“The suspect was wanted for the brutal killing of a male on 8 August at the Kopanong hostel in Kloof. The deceased was found in a horrific state with his stomach was sliced open and intestines bulging out,” Ndlovu said.

The suspect appeared in the Westonaria Magistrate court on Friday (14 August) facing a charge of murder. The case was postponed to 11 September.
