Baby found in rubbish bag

Paramedics found she had been dead for some time - ER24.

A baby girl, believed to be aged between 30 to 40 weeks, was found in a garbage bag outside a complex in Steve Biko Road in Potchefstroom over the weekend.

According to ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring, “Paramedics, along with police, responded to the scene, and on our arrival, found the young child covered in a plastic bag near some waste bins.

It is understood that waste collection services had been removing the waste when they stumbled across the body.

“When paramedics assessed the child, they found that she had been dead for some time. Unfortunately nothing more could be done for the patient.”

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
