78 arrests in seven days

"No stone is being left unturned in the fight against crime."

The Randfontein Police successfully made 78 arrests during the week of 10 to 17 July which included drug and housebreaking arrests.

The arrests include 16 arrests for drug related issues such as dealing in drugs or possession of drugs and dagga. Other arrests were made for assault, house breaking and two rape suspects were arrested for two separate incidents.

Three suspects, aged 49, 27 and 67 were arrested during an inspection of a businesses in the CBD on the 15 July. The arrests were for the contravention of the Medicine Act of 1965. The suspects allegedly illegally sold scheduled medication.

Captain Appel Ernst, spokesperson for the Randfontein Police congratulated all the members who are leaving no stone unturned in the fight against crime.
