Accident leaves biker critical

Medics worked fervently to stabilise the injured man – Netcare 911.

A man in his 40s is in a critical condition after a motorbike and a taxi collided over the weekend along Lazar Avenue in Randgate.

According to Netcare 911 spokesperson, Chris Botha, “Paramedics received the call at around 5.17pm and responded to the scene with an ambulance crew and an advanced life support paramedic.

When they arrived at the scene, they found the biker lying on the roadway with life threatening injuries.

“Medics worked fervently to stabilise the injured man at the scene and after he was deftly immobilised on a trauma board, they transported him to a local hospital for the specialised care that he required.”

Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events is still speculative and will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.
