Glenharvie family attacked in their home

'Suspects ordered them at gunpoint to lie down.'

A man pleaded for his family’s life when they were held at gunpoint during a house robbery in Glenharvie over the weekend.

Westonaria Police spokesperson, Captain Sphiwe Ndlovu confirmed the incident saying it occurred on Saturday around 8.45pm.

“One of the victims was inside the house when he heard his father-in-law’s screams outside. He went outside to investigate where he saw his father-in-law being held at gunpoint. The suspect turned to him and pointed the gun at him where he was standing in the doorway.

The victim tried locking the door but the suspect fired a shot at him. The bullet missed the victim and went through the door into the living room. The suspects then got into the house, held the victim and the rest of his family at gunpoint and ordered them to lie down.

“The victim pleaded with the suspects not to harm them. The suspects ransacked the house, took a 52 inch flat-screen television and one Samsung Galaxy A5 phone, then fled on foot. Nobody was injured.”

The suspects are still at large.

Anyone with more information on the suspects can contact Warrant Officer Labuschagne on 011 278 5395/6.
