Painting for Madiba

'We will keep moving forward.'

Xolisa Ntsepo, ANC councillor for Ward 2, organised for Restoration Edu-Care and Orphanage to be painted for Mandela Day.

Members of the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP), Community Workers Programme (CWP) from Lafarge South Africa, ANC of Ward 2 and the ANC stepped up and painted the centre. Lafarge Cement donated the paint and was involved actively in the day.

About 45 orphans witnessed this kind gesture, where everybody was working hard to give this orphanage a new look. Ntsepo said,

We come from a very difficult past, where we felt like foreigners in our own country. We are forever thankful to Mandela, and forever will be inspired by him. We will fight for this country as a unity. We will keep moving forward and keep on bettering the lives of people in our country.”

“The orphans were well aware of the meaning of this special day, and Blessing Lgopane, 14, said, “He was a great person. He is like my father.”
