Five suspects target cigarette truck

Police currently on the lookout for two vehicles that might be connected to the robbery.

Five suspects allegedly targeted a truck transporting cigarettes in Elandsvlei on Tuesday morning local police said.

According to Captain Appel Ernst, spokesperson for the Randfontein Police, “A cigarette transportation truck was robbed before 8am.

“It is believed five suspects were involved. We are currently looking for two vehicles that could be connected to the incident. One is an Audi A4 and the other a bakkie. The suspects were last seen heading into the direction of Kagiso.”

It is believed the suspects robbed the truck and took it to the outside of a café near the Laerskool Rapportryer’s (Rappies) sports fields.
