UPDATE: Elderly man dies in house fire

Police suspect no foul play.

Police suspect no foul play and are investigating an case after a man had burned to death in a house fire last week.

According to Randfontein Police spokesperson, Captain Appel Ernst, “Members of the Randfontein Police responded to a call of a blazing fire in Lemeko Street, Mohlakeng at about 7am on Friday 19 June.

“Police found that a shack had burned to ashes. The occupant, a 65-year-old man, passed away in the fire.”

The investigating officer, Warrant Officer Santie le Roux-Laufs can be contacted in connection with the case on 011 278 8130.
