Authorities are looking for family or friends of the elderly man who passed away in Burger Street after collapsing.

Do you know the elderly man who collapsed in Burger Street in Krugersdorp on the West Rand and passed away?

The News reported on 5 May about an elderly man who collapsed on the sidewalk in a street in the Krugersdorp CBD and passed away.

The cause of his death was unknown at the time and the case was handed over the Krugersdorp Detective’s Unit for further investigation.

The Tower of Life shelter in Krugersdorp had confirmed that Johan Adolf Mostert was a regular at the shelter and he had passed away due to a heart attack.

Although there is little known about Mostert on his file at the shelter, the News found that he was divorced with two children, and that he previously resided in Bloemfontein at an unknown address.

According to staff at the Tower of Life, Mostert started coming to the shelter a year ago, and wandered the streets during the day and later returned again at night fall.

The Tower of Life along with stakeholders are planning to lay the 64-year-old Mostert to rest within the next two weeks.
