Motorist held at gunpoint

'The man was forced to hand over all his belongings, including a large amount of cash.'

While a delivery truck was being robbed by two armed suspects in Greenhills on Thursday morning (26 March) a motorist was targeted in the CBD, said police.

According to Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson, “The complainant, 57, said he stopped at the corner of 8th and Village Streets when two men approached him and pointed firearms at him.

“At gunpoint the man allegedly was forced to hand over all his belongings, including a large amount of cash. The complainant was not injured during the incident.”

The investigating officer, Warrant Officer Thabiso Duiker urged anyone who might have witnessed this incident, which occurred during business hours, to contact him on 011 278 8100.
