15 Injured in taxi collision

'Cause of the collision not yet known'

A total of 15 people were injured after a taxi rear-ended a light motor vehicle on the N12 in Potchefstroom on Wednesday.

According to ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring “Paramedics from the ER24 Potchefstroom branch arrived on scene and found both vehicles parked in one of the lanes. The occupants from the taxi were found sitting around the scene.

“On assessment, paramedics discovered that 14 occupants from the taxi as well as the driver from the light motor vehicle had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

“Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries and thereafter transported them to Mediclinic Potchefstroom as well as Potchefstroom Hospital for further treatment.

“The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.”
