Residents take pothole complaining to a new level

Foul language sticker spotted on a road sign near school.

It is a well known fact that Randfontein is ridden with potholes and an unknown party has now plastered the streets of Randgate with stickers complaining of potholes.

The sign in question can be seen on Botha Street in Randgate.

The sign is as a result of the poor state of the roads in Randfontein and residents are at wits end with road safety and the monthly bills as a result of tyres being written off as a result of potholes. However, it is problematic that the sign was put up at a school pedestrian crossing.

In addition to the sticker being put up at a school pedestrian crossing, it is also a potential danger to motorists as they may not see the marking of the traffic signs.

This coupled with the stickers being at a school could spell impending disaster both for motorists and child pedestrians.

Comment is awaited from the Randfontein Local Municipality on what the way is forward with regards to potholes especially with the change of mayor and the impending 2016 vision of the merging of municipalities.
