Suspect, 17, arrested for stabbing

Two others are still at large — police.

Police managed to arrest one of three suspects responsible for stabbing a man during a business robbery.

“The incident occurred early October in the Siyahlala Informal Settlement in Brandvlei,” says Randfontein Police spokesperson Captain Appel Ernst.

“A witness says he and his brother were in the shop when three unknown males entered the shop. The suspects were armed and they pointed firearms at them. The suspects demanded items from the shop. They then stabbed the witness’ brother and fled with the stolen items.

“A 17-year-old suspect was arrested shortly after the incident and his first appearance in the Randfontein Magistrates’ Court was on 6 October. The case was remanded to Tuesday this week (14 October). The other two suspects are still at large.”
