One killed, nine injured as bakkie overturns
'There was nothing that paramedics could do for him' - ER24
A man was killed and nine people injured when a bakkie overturned on the N14 Ventersdorp Road on Saturday.
According to ER24s Werner Vermaak “Paramedics from ER24 West Rand arrived on the scene and found the occupants of the vehicle scattered around the vehicle.
“One person was found with fatal injuries. There was nothing that paramedics could do for him and he was declared dead on the scene.
“Nine others were found with several injuries, ranging from fractures to multiple lacerations.
“It is understood that majority of the people were sitting on the back of the vehicle when it overturned.
“Paramedics stabilized the injured on the scene and transported them to Leratong Hospital for further medical treatment.
“The exact cause of the collision is not yet known.”
