Municipality launches “Asikhulume” campaign

Residents encouraged to do their bit in terms of improving service delivery by voicing their dissatisfaction.

In a bid to improve service delivery, the office of the speaker within the Randfontein Local Municipality has initiated the ‘Asikhulume’ (Let’s speak) campaign.

The purpose of the campaign is to encourage local residents to do their bit in terms of improving service delivery by voicing their dissatisfaction.

According to the municipality’s head of communication Phillip Montshiwa, “What we are trying to do as a municipality is have people come forward and voice their concerns.

“We want them to report anything, such as dysfunctional meters, because that’s how we will know about the challenges facing our communities” says Montshiwa who adds that this will help them to formulate a plan to tackle problematic issues.

In line with this, Montshiwa also says the a group of municipal workers has been tasked with conducting door to door visits on a regular basis to teach people how to read their meters and encourage payment for services rendered to them.
