One dead, three injured when car smashes into tree

'Person killed was a 40-year-old woman' — police.

A 40-year-old woman was killed and four other occupants injured when the car they were travelling in smashed into a tree on the road between Helikon Park and Finsbury recently.

According to Randfontein Police spokesperson Captain Appel Ernst, “Our members were patrolling the area before 2am when they discovered the vehicle that had smashed into a tree.

“They found that one woman was dead and that three other occupants of the car were injured badly. Paramedics were called to the scene and the injured were taken to a local hospital,” says Ernst.

Anyone who might have any information about the accident is urged to contact the investigating officer into the case. He is Michael Chuene on 011 278 8100.
