Video: Local business takes on Ice Bucket Challenge

Local business takes on the Ice Bucket Challenge.

The Ice Bucket Challenge has made its way to Randfontein when a local business decided to take on the challenge.

One of the employees, Monique Brits says, “The idea is to create awareness about Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and show our support for the cause”.

The Ice Bucket Challenge entails people throwing a bucket of ice water over their heads to create awareness of the disease. However, this time three employees stood helpless as an AUSA forklift truck poured 1 000 litres ice water over their heads.

The three employees were Gerhard Brits, his wife Monique and Deon Greyling.

“We are really glad to have done this for those who are diagnosed with ALS.

“This helps create awareness of the disease and encourage people to do their bit and donate towards research,” says a shivering Brits who added that this is their way of hopefully sparking other companies to do the same. They since have nominated Avant Tech and AUSA world wide to do the challenge as well.
