Police search three suspected ATM robbers

Suspicious-looking men searched at police station.

Randfontein Police left no stone unturned after spotting three suspicious-looking men in a vehicle parked outside a Wimpy restaurant in the CBD recently.

According to police the men were suspected to be ATM robbers and was confronted before they were asked to follow the police to a nearby police station where they were searched.

An officer at the scene told the herald, “The three men seemed suspicious and were inside their car, which had Mpumalanga registration plates. We watched the trio in their car for some time and decided to instruct them to follow us to the police station where we conducted a search on them as well as their vehicle.

“Although we could not find anything suspicious in their possession that we could charge them for, it was worth the check and I’m glad that we left no stone unturned,” says the officer.

According to her, irrespective of whether something positive is found on suspects or not, suspicious are worth being looked into as it can result in arrests of dangerous criminals.
