Metal thieves run into trouble

Men aged 25, 27 and 41 charged with being in possession of stolen property.

Randfontein Police arrested three men after they were caught driving a truck fully loaded with stolen metal sheets in Finsbury yesterday.

According to Randfontein Police spokesperson Captain Appel Ernst, “Two police officers on duty spotted the men in a suspicious truck. The officers stopped the driver and investigated.

“During their search they asked the vehicle’s occupants where they had bought or found the metal, which they could not account for. The officers then arrested the suspects aged 25, 27 and 41.”

All three suspects face a charge of being in possession of stolen property.
